Setup Wizard

Use the one-click wizard to get protected in 60 seconds.

Activating LoginPlus already turns on Brute Force Protection, Activity Logging, and Email Alerts by itself — before you’ve touched any settings. On first activation you’re then redirected to a single-screen Setup Wizard where you can review those defaults, turn any of them off, and optionally enable Two-Factor Authentication.

Already on by default

These are enabled the moment the plugin activates — the wizard just gives you a chance to review or turn them off before continuing:

  • Brute Force Protection — locks out attackers after 5 failed attempts for 15 minutes
  • Login Activity Logging — records every login attempt with IP address and timestamp
  • Email Alerts — notifies the admin on suspicious logins and brute-force lockouts

Optional features

Two additional toggles are shown, both off by default:

  • Two-factor authentication (2FA) — once turned on here, users can enroll from their profile page
  • Require 2FA for admins — forces admin-role users to set up 2FA before accessing the dashboard

Google Social Login has no toggle in the wizard — it’s configured separately under LoginPlus → Settings → Google Social Login once you have OAuth credentials. See the Google Social Login doc.

Clicking Save & Activate applies whatever the toggles are set to when you submit — nothing happens automatically without that click.

Skipping the wizard

The Skip button does not simply dismiss the wizard and leave things as they are. The first time you skip, LoginPlus takes it as “don’t enable anything” and actively turns off Brute Force Protection, Activity Logging, Email Alerts, 2FA, and Require-2FA-for-admins — even though activation had just turned the first three on. If you want those protections active, use Save & Activate instead of Skip, even if you don’t change any toggles.

Once the wizard has been completed or skipped once, it won’t reappear on later visits. Revisiting LoginPlus → Dashboard → Quick Setup afterward shows the same screen pre-filled with your actual saved settings, and its Skip button then just closes the screen without changing anything. You can always change individual settings later from LoginPlus → Settings.
